10:30min – The minister Matilde Ribeiro, from the Special Secretariat for the Promotion of Racial Equality Politics, talks about the “2005 – the Promotion of Racial Equality National Year” and “National Conference about the Promotion of Racial Equality”.
12:00 pm – The minister of the cities, Olívio Dutra, makes a balance about the two years activities of the Ministry and brings data on the investments in habitation and sanitation in the country.
2:00 pm – The South-african Thulas Nxesi, the Education International president, talks about the accessibility to public and qualified education, promoting peace, democracy, social justice and equality for all the peoples. The CPERS president, Juçara Dutra Vieira, will participate in the debate.
4:00 pm – The Palestine Democratic Commitee brings Leila Khaled to talk about Intifada and the human rights violation in Palestine.
5:00 pm – Indigenous people evaluate the Brazilian indigenous policy and launch a manifest. The participants are: Jecinaldo Barbosa Cabral-Saterê Mawé, coordinator of the Indigenous Organizations of the Brazilian Amazon, Saulo Feitosa, from the Indigenist Missionary Council, Agnaldo Pataxó Hã Hã Hãe, representative member of Apoinme and Marinaldo Makuxi, representantive member of the Roraima Indigenous Council.
The press conferences will be held in Room 209 at Usina do Gasometro.
