World Social Forum 2006 will be spread out

The International Council decided in a meeting, this tuesday (01/25), that the World Social Forum 2006 will be realized in a spread out manner, in different places in the world. With this, the WSF ensures it's commitment with it's Letter of Priciples, seeking for a permanet process of searching and building new alternatives, which are not limited to the events proposed.

The final decisions about the WSF 2006 will be taken on the International Council meeting, next april. The International Council reensured that the WSF 2007 will be held in Africa. The responsibility for the organization will be with the africans organisations. The International Council will help with the process of building the WSF in Africa.

Meeting of the International Council of the WSF

The International Council of the procedures of the World Social Forum (WSF) decides about the WSF 2006:
1.The WSF 2006 will be realized in a spread out manner, in different places in the world. This decision seeks the expansion and rooting of the process.
2.Will take part of the WSF 2006 those events held in different regions and countries, in which organisations are proposed to share methods and principles built in common, and in accordance to the Letter Of Principles.
3.The process of the WSF 2006 will begin with events realised in the very same date of the Davos Forum.
4.The proposals for events to the WSF 2006 must be presented before april and formulated in accordance between the organisations groups of the WSF process.
5. The final decision about the events of the WSF 2006 will be taken in the meeting of the International Council of the WSF to be held in april.
6.In this april meeting, the International Council will define the architecture of the WSF 2006 process, including the International Secretary in accordance to the new challenges.
7.Until April, the International Secretary of the WSF, composed by both Brazilian and Indian groups, will continue to develop it's functions.
8.The organisers of the WSF 2006 process will sistematize and communicate their experiences in ordes to socialize them.
9.The International Council will support in an effective way the regional and thematic processes that are currently active.

The International Council of the World Social Forum process decides about the WSF 2007:
1.The World Social Forum 2007 will happen in Africa.
2.The africans organisations will be responsible for the organisation of the WSF 2007. The International Council will share this responsability.
3.The africans organisations will present, at the International Council meeting, the calendar and the scheddule of the work program for the WSF 2007.
4.The International Council will develop from now on an active sympathy for the WSF 2007 process in Africa.
