1.ACCREDITATION OF DELEGATES – IMPORTANT NOTICE
Procedures for Accreditation of WSF Delegates
Accreditation will take place between January 28, at 13:00h, and February 2nd, in the Events Centre (Centro de Eventos) at the PUC, located at Av. Ipiranga 6681.
Bring your inscription number and proof of payment.
Receiving of Badges:
Badges are organized by name of delegates.
Individual Receipt of Badges:
Delegates must supply their names as registered in the enrollment form.
Receiving for Delegates:
1) The person in charge of receival of badges for an organization must have a list with the names of delegates, like the ones registered in the enrollment form.
2) To receive all of the badges for the organization, the person in charge of receiving of badges must show proof of payment or a receipt from the WSF.
3) After receiving the badges for all of the delegates, the person in charge will sign a declaration assuming responsibility.
Substitution of Delegates:
The formal authorization of the registered delegate should contain the name of the substitute for who will inform of the name of the substitute.
Addition of Delegates:
All pre-registered organizations will be able to add delegates, keeping in mind that each additional delegate will cost US$25,00 or R$ 65,00, which can be paid at the location. After available spaces are filled, the addition of delegates will be closed immediately.
New Enrollment:
Foreign organizations that are not pre-registered will be able to enroll at that moment. Brazilian Organizations that have not pre-enrolled will not be able, under any circumstances, to make an enrollment on the spot.
Organizations that have made payment correctly, but have not registered the names of their delegates, should look for the table Credenciamento para Organizações Não Confirmadas/Registration for Non-Confirmed Organizations, and complete the names of their delegates.
2. PARTICIPATION AS OBSERVERS
Badges for participation as observers in the seminars, workshops and cultural program of the WSF 2002 are now available. The Comitê Gaúcho is doing accreditation.
Those interested should contribute R$2,00 which will be used for the organization of the activities of the Comitê Gaúcho. Locations for Accreditation:

3. SYMBOLS OF PEACE
We believe that a world of peace is possible, because we believe the desire for peace transcends languages, cultures, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and religion....
To express our belief, we invite all the participants of the WSF 2002 to bring symbols of peace characteristic of their country.
The objective is to put these objects in the Pôr-do-Sol Amphitheatre, during the closing events of the Forum which will occur on February 5th at 9:00.
We are counting on your contribution in the construction of this collective work.
4. WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS
A complete program of the workshops is available at www.forumsocialmundial.org.br .

5. COMMUNICATION
Events
Certain events of the WSF will be transmitted by radio. To facilitate access, we ask that participants of the Forum bring radios with audio phones.
Transmission
Television broadcasters and those that have a satellite dish, located south of Bahia will be able to tune in to TVE-RS to follow the coverage of the World Social Forum 2002, between the 31st of January and the 5th of February, in Porto Alegre. TVE-RS uses the Intelsat 709 satellite to retransmit their signal in digital and is not codified (DVB-T pattern).
The following technical data are necessary for reception of the signal: - Satellite: Intelsat 709; - Orbital Position: 310º W (50º E); - Band: Ku; - Frequency of descent: 11.186,25 MHz; - Symbol rate: 4,285 Ms; - Fec: ¾; - Polarization: horizontal.
Daily, TVE will transmit in full one of the morning conferences. Those in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, aside from TVE, will have the option of attending two other WSF2002 conferences through TV Comunitária and UniTV (cable). 6. PORTO ALEGRE 2002
It is summer in Porto Alegre. The temperature in the city falls around 30°. We suggest that WSF participants bring light clothes, such as t-shirts, shorts, dresses etc. Below find useful services and information.
7. TRANSPORTATION
All of the buses and micro-buses whose routes run to the locations of WSF2002 events will be identified with signs. Multilingual volunteers will be located in Rádio Táxi centres to assist with the transportation of visitors.
As well, the airport will have a reception and information team which will function from 6:00 until the arrival and disembarkation of the final flight.
8. ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION
Vacancies in motels, pensions, inns, etc, are available for the accommodation of visitors. Contacts and Information: (51) 3226-6558. From January 26, an information post about alternative accommodations will be installed in the Usina do Gasômetro.
